Glad you’re here.

Hi friends,

I’ve spent years in the yoga and wellness world watching how a practice that is rooted in liberation has turned into a performance of “wellness.” I’ve experienced high pressure studio environments, class models that have overwhelmed my senses, rigid alignment and instruction, and a fitness industry that marries consumption and perfectionism with belonging. I want to bring you back to a practice that feels more honest.

I founded Wild Thing Yoga out of my love for technical instruction, traditional yoga philosophy, and the basic human need to just play. My background is rooted in the architecture of the body - specializing in the functional strength of handbalancing, mobility, modern movement, and playful intuitive sequencing (What if if were fun?). But beyond a love of anatomy and biomechanics, I am passionate about people, connection, + community. My education and experience includes years working in social work and therapeutic roles, with a Master of Social Work degree and M.Ed. in Human Sexuality. I have over 600 hours of yoga training and am an ERYT and Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider. I approach movement education through a trauma-informed lens.

I’m not interested in selling you wellness products or influencing you, I want to help you come back into your own agency and find a deeper connection to your body and the world around you. I’m so glad that you’re here and I cannot wait to dive into the practices of yoga with you.

with love,

Lauren
